EquipALife, formerly known as Assistive Technology of Minnesota, was created in 1998 by the Governors Council on Assistive Technology for Individuals with Disabilities to carry on the mandate of the Federal Technology Related Assistance Act for Individuals with Disabilities.
EquipALife helps Minnesotans with disabilities and aging adults by increasing self-sufficiency at work, at home, at school and in the community through the use of AT devices and services. We are a consumer-directed/consumer-driven organization, and the only nonprofit in Minnesota to focus exclusively on increasing access to AT devices, providing professional assessments, and finding funding solutions to provide the "Right Tool for the Right Task." EquipALife is focused on outcomes that improve the economic situation of Minnesotans, allowing them to live, work, and play in the community of their choice. Over the past eighteen years, EquipALife has developed a network of partners to assist in delivering quality AT services.
